How To Create File Upload Form In WordPress With WPForms?

Are you using WordPress forms on your website? Do you now want visitors to upload files to the forms?

Websites have different types of forms for their visitors. Some of the forms require file attachments. If you have such a form on your website, you need to allow visitors to add files, images, and documents. Uploading files to your forms makes it easier for you to obtain additional information on the prospect.

In this guide, we will share with you the process to easily make a file upload form in WordPress.

Importance of File Upload In WordPress Forms

A file upload field is a simple and quick way to obtain information from your website visitors. And, if the form is easy to fill out, it reduces your form abandonment rate, allowing you to earn more revenue.

The most common forms in which users need to send/attach a file include:

  1. Job application forms – Users need to upload resume documents.
  2. User-generated content forms – If your website accepts content from users, you need to allow them to share blog posts or images.
  3. Customer support forms – Customers can give additional information by uploading documents.
  4. Contest Collaterals – Submission of images or audio and video clips for a contest or if you are using a giveaway plugin.
  5. Client services forms – Clients can attach their portfolio, company introduction, or spreadsheets.

Many such forms require the submission of additional information by way of files and images. For instance, many forms require scanned documents for verification. The list is just endless.

Fortunately, the WPForms plugin allows users to easily upload various file extensions to contact forms. The supported file types include:

  • Documents (.pdf, .ppt, .doc, .xls)
  • Images (.jpg, .png, .gif)
  • Video (.mov, .wmv, .mpg)
  • Audio (.mp3, .mp4, .wav)

These are not the only supported file types.
